Our continual investment in the latest technology has made us the first choice for many graphic designers, marketers and print buyers. Whether it’s litho or digital print technology, innovative finishing machinery or the software to enhance it, we’re always looking for the best print solutions.
Investment in Printing Presses
Our litho print is processed on Heidelberg’s flagship XL press with approximately 15,000 sheets per hour coming off the best litho print technology. As a company, we have been using Heidelberg presses for over 50 years and from proven results and past experience we know that Heidelberg pride itself on quality and efficiency – two values the team at Johnsons firmly believe in.
The HP Indigo digital machine is the best digital press in the market. With a print quality close to litho, it’s the first choice for print buyers. Capable of printing white, metallics and even fluorescent inks, this press can produce high quality, creative print in short runs very cost effectively.
Colour Matching, Finishing & Software
We’ve also invested in finishing as well as software to enable colour matching and variable data printing. We’re confident of matching colours across all of our presses, digital, litho and wide format. Our investment in software to compliment our machinery has enhanced our ability to create accurate, high quality print.

How We Ensure Perfect Colour Matching
To make this happen we operate to the internationally recognised Fogra39 standard. However, our quality control standards are three times more critical than ISO12647 standards, giving us outstanding results. So how do we do this? We run an integrated AGFA workflow across both our plants in Crewe and Nantwich. This ensures an accurate colour match representation across different printing presses and different substrates. We are proud to print for some of the biggest brands across the UK and Europe where colour matching across different media is essential. Our workflow and colour profiling investment enables us to print at the highest quality, and of course, the printing presses play their part too."The Heidelberg XL75 and HP Indigo are two of the finest printing presses in the world, and the Large Format unit offers unrivalled printing quality with the AGFA Anapurna."
