We often get involved in some beautiful print work at Johnsons. Beautiful photography, beautiful design and layout, resulting in some beautifully finished print. But this journal for Olsen Animal Trust not only has all the above, but it also illustrates and describes a truly beautiful cause.
- Printed Litho on Heidelberg XL
- Uncoated paper stock
- Stitched and bound with 300gsm cover and 140gsm printed pages
- Finished by hand at Johnsons of Nantwich
- Pre-press, workflow and pagination by Johnsons pre-press studio

The journal sets out the journey so far. From founder Sue Olsen’s experience of witnessing a menagerie of tethered animals in 2012 through to the accomplished work that has been done by projects supported by the now established Olsen Animal Trust’s team.
It chronicles the work of the Born Free Foundation (pictured below), and the many organisations doing incredible work around the world. Examples are Tikki Hywood Foundation who specialise in helping lesser known species such as the pangolin, the Elephant Orphanage Project in Zambia whose aim is to rescue, rehabilitate and release orphaned elephants back into the wild and Chipmebele a wildlife rescue and educational trust (pictured above).

Creating the highest quality print…

It’s always a pleasure to be involved with excellent projects such as this. We work with photographers and designers on a daily basis, this gives us an advantage when producing photography based projects such as this. Credit in this case to designer Jocelyn Lawman who we’re sure, along with the contributing photographers, will be as pleased as we are with the resulting journal.

Visitor Centre Display Graphics
A combined project with designer David Vickers of DesignCoUK, has produced this stunning permanent display. The 12 visitor centre display graphics were printed on our Anapurna flatbed. This was supported by our AGFA workflow to ensure accurate colour and high quality reproduction of David's artwork.Interactive Displays
This permanent display also includes some excellent tactile touches and interactive displays. One of the graphics includes a 25 flip-over display, where visitors can reveal instant answers by simply flipping the relevant graphic. The six piece block puzzle was created by printing direct to 36 wooden panels, each slotting into one another to form cubes. The panels were varnished after being printed and form a very durable block puzzle. A design from David Vickers that needed a bit of thinking about!Wooden Graphic Display frames
