Eco-Friendly Feather Flags & Banners supplied to the Countess of Chester Hospital for their Travel to Work Promotion

Our Eco-Friendly Feather Flags and banners were used recently at NHS Countess of Chester Hospital. The Feather Flags are made from recycled plastic bottle tops and the banners are completely PVC free making them suitable for recycling.

Eco-friendly feather flags and banners

We were delighted to help supply the Countess of Chester Hospital as they promoted part of their “We’re Going Greener strategy“. This launch was to encourage staff to cycle to work, rather than use the car. With the help of Olympic Gold medalist Chris Boardman, the team at CoCH unveiled their changing rooms and educated NHS staff on the merits of cycling to work.

Johnsons were delighted to help the supply chain to CoCH by printing feather flags onto a material which was recycled from plastic bottle tops. We also printed PVC Free Banners which are recyclable which were used at the event.

We also installed graphics for the hub and staff changing rooms with portacabin graphics at the hospital. This both enhanced the campaign and encouraged staff to make use of the changing rooms and bike sheds which make it easier for staff to run, walk or cycle to work.

The Eco-friendly flags, feather banners and PVC-free banners are suitable for use for up to two years use before they start to decompose. The recylcled fabric for the Feather banners is similar in look and feel to the polyester fabric normally used in manufacture. We believe this fabric will be one of the most popular fabrics used in feather flag manufacture in the coming years.

PVC Free Banners

Our PVC free banners are printed with vegetable based inks on our UV-LED large format printing press to the same high quality. Our pre-press systems and processes are used by some of the largest brands in the UK and Europe to help match brand colours in the highest definistion possible.

What Is The CoCH We’re Going Greener Campaign?

The NHS has pledged to reduce carbon emissions and integrate sustainability as a natural part of the workforce and health care in-line with government goals and standards. The Countess of Chester Hospital has already taken many huge steps to help them acheive the NHS targets of sustainability for hospitals and Trusts. But they are pledging to do much more over the coming years.

Take a look at the Countess of Chesters Green Plan for 2022-2025. Its ambitious and inspiring, and we’re delighted we can contribute in a small way to the wonderful work the Countess has done in creating a reduced carbon and sustainable health care environment, by supplying eco-friendly flags and banners.
